Some Suggestions to Maximize Your Cleaning Ability and Using Less Time

Some Suggestions to Maximize Your Cleaning Ability and Using Less Time

When moving into your own place for the first time, getting the hang of cleaning an entire house yourself can be overwhelming. The longer that you clean your home the easier it becomes. When finding your cleaning schedule and habits it is best to learn the quickest and most effective way first so that it becomes a habit. No matter if you are "learning" how to clean or fine tuning your own current cleaning method, these tips will help you get the most out of your cleaning with the least amount of time.

Get your tools ready- You can waste a lot of time and energy by having to retrieve cleaning products constantly or by hauling them with you. Start by taking all of the cleaning products (also take sponges, rags, etc.) that you will need and set them out in their respective rooms. I suggest getting a bucket or organizer tray to carry the products that are used in more than one room. This keeps the products you carry to a minimum and eliminates waster retrieval time,

Pick up first- Go around and pick up and arrange the rooms before you start actually cleaning. This way, everything is where it is supposed to be and you just need to clean. This method also keeps from bending over constantly through the cleaning process, which will tire anybody out quickly. You have the most energy when you start cleaning so it only makes sense to get that out of the way first.

Room to Room- After you have picked up and arranged your rooms, you can begin the cleaning. Pick your first room and just work your way around the house cleaning each room entirely (except the floors) before moving on. Anything that needs to set or soak should be done first to do so while you work. Work your way around the room from left to right and working from the top to bottom, to "clean yourself out" of the room to reduce the risk of undoing the cleaning you just finished. Then anything that is soaking should be finished last.

Floors- All floor cleaning should be completed last. Do mopping first since this sometimes loosen dirt or things stuck to your floor. Nudge those to the nearest carpet to get them out of the way. The get your vacuum and clean the carpets.

This way may not work for everybody. If you do not like to be interrupted and work until everything is done, then this is a method you should definitely try. Try your method on week and then try this the next. Then, compare to see which method gives you the most cleaning with the least amount of time. You may just convert your cleaning ways.
